TopIdol goes to Thunderdome

2010 September 8
by TopIdol

Greetings my little readers. I have returned. Well, physically yes, mentally, NOOOOO! I so do not want to go to work tomorrow. Or do laundry. Or worry about blogging every damned day :) DEEZ did an AMAZING job and I’m sure I’ll be begging her to keep up with a few contributions here and there. I think she had fun doing it, too, right Deez? Heh. EVERYONE THANK DEEZ FOR BEING DEEZ!

But my little desert sojourn was wonderful. I’ve spent the last 8 hours going through my photos, uploading my photos, labeling my photos, adding descriptions, tagging, et al. It is tiring. But I DID want to share a little something fun with all of you. (Probably because I haven’t gone through even close to all the comments and posts since I left and hell, I’m sure some of you tarded your asses off in my absence, so…perhaps it is best if I let them be for awhile…)

Have you ever seen Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome? Well, at Burning Man, a SF-based camp called Death Guild runs their very own Thunderdome where you can fight. As it turns out, one of their members was an old friend of mine from about 8 years ago. We literally ran into each other in the kitchen of my camp. He gave me the lowdown so my new awesome friend Ruth and I decided to give it a go. And we have video!

It’s not the best video, but you can get an idea of what it is like. Nuts, yes. But lots of fun. We escaped injury free, sans my skinned knee and her scraped elbow, which was mainly because our skin was just so damn dry. (YOU try being covered in an alkaline dust for 8 days and tell me how your skin feels.) I’m on the left, in the furry green spats. Our fight was a draw. They sent two other girls out to fight with us. I think they do this when most females fight, given that people think this sort of thing is really hot. Heh.

Enjoy. :)

Spread the word. Do it.

I have to convince my hubby to do this next year. I need to beat him about the head with a stick while flying through the air in a harness wearing a bikini and fur boots. There is nothing better than that. Do you have to be female? Can I dress him in drag? My life will be complete!

isnt this the coolest thing ever? when anyone asks me to briefly describe the burning man experience, i always tell them about the dome.

  • Mothra

You returned in time to write a post on Sanjaya. He has a new Christmas album coming out and line of amazing tshirts. Plus he’s got a new album coming out! And he’s being wooed by the media once again. He is unforgettable, Adam wishes he had this level of recognition.

He IS a superstar. Try to deny it.

I’m curious Mothra, how many times have you been to Pagliacci Pizza in Seattle???

  • kimberly

It looks like fun. But a person seriously needs weight on them to keep from flying backwards, no matter how in shape or how strong. The leg wrap seemed to work for awhile, but hard to do that and coordinate batting the hell out of someone. lol Those women came out of nowhere. Did it bring out the primal in you? Biggest issue for me would be the creature comforts, like say, daily showers, air-conditioning, indoor plumbing… I’d need to be drunk 24/7.

Welcome back! Looks like you had a fun time out in the desert. It was an interesting week here. Deez did a great job.

  • muzikizmi

Beware MEATROLLS! Our leader is skilled in the use of clubs and such. Welcome back, TI. :D

Plus, we can all learn from Sanjaya… Hee. We had some very interesting trollage ;)

And whoever mentioned Clan of the Cavebears I am laughing because… well, I was in like middle school (was I that old?) when those books came out and I used to steal them from my mom’s room and hide outside and read the sex scenes. I was a pervy little virgin child I guess. I don’t know why I thought of that, but it made me giggle because I was such a dork :)

  • Sandy

Welcome Back! I’m glad you had a good time on your trip. Deez did a great job filling in. The MEATROLLS were hilarious.

  • jukejoint

That is quite hilarious. The fuzzy leg things make it look very Clan of the Cave Bear.

  • Blue Eyes

Welcme back! Cool video…looks like fun!

  • deez

Next year, if I get to be queen for a week, I will be “Thunderdeez”. I shall have furry green spats and a PVC bat!!!

    • et

Thunderdeez will *smack* the MEATROLLS instead of zapping ;)

      • deez

This blog is speshul. Others have trolls, we have MEATROLLS!

        • mtlfan

it sounds edible but yikes it’s not..

Welcome back! Glad you had a great time :) That video is awesome – and I agree, looks like a great way to get out some frustrations, lol!!

  • barado

What are those weapons, padded cricket bats or giant paint brushes? Whatever, it looks like an excellent way to vent one’s frustrations.

      PVC topped with padding :)

  • Mysterioso

Too bad you weren’t here last week to bat around those trolls like that. Deez did a great job though.
