Chik-Fil-A & Kris Allen are obviously sleeping together

2010 September 10
by TopIdol

Chik-Fil-A continues to taunt Kerry Kolsch! Or flaunt their unseemly relationship with American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen, but this should definitely earn an additional chapter in Ms. Kolsch’s epic corruption saga.

Recognize the song? Sure you do. Hey, I think it’s because it says something about making feasts from crumbs, who knows. Personally, I’m getting sick of hearing about Chik-Fil-A EVERYWHERE. Chik-Fil-A seems to have replaced In & Out Burger as the trendy fast food, has it not? I don’t ever remember consuming any orgasm-inducing Chik-Fil-A in my entire life, granted, I never ate there because I cared little for their closed-on-Sundays Christian bent. (Take that, sparkle cows!) So why is it so good? Can someone tell me? I promise I’ll eat Chik-Fil-A the next time I see one. Just tell me why they seem to be taking over the muthafraking world. It’s just chicken. Why does it make you feel this way all the way down to your loins?

Spread the word. Do it.

If somebody already posted this, sorry. Houston Chronicle apologizes for their review of Adam Lambert.

    http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2010/09/adam_lambert_reviewing_our_rev.php

So acc. to this writer, “many people believe” there was a church-based, conservative conspiracy to organize votes for Kris against the gay man.

    • et

Ah, the comment section. When I’m bored, I will pop popcorn and read comment sections. My favorite:

      “AZLadyWolf says:
      To Early Cuyler:

You poor dear! – shall we take a collection so you can get some hearing aids?
Also, since I’m 60, I don’t think I quite fit into the “15-year-old” and “Hot Topic halter” group, so maybe we should include glasses for you, also……

      Whoooop! Whooop!

**Off to the next Adam Lambert Concert!!!!**”

      • DeeDee

This comment made me laugh my ass off:

“A Lambert fan’s guide to posting comments on a concert review:
        1. Post a link to the article on every Adam fan site out there.
        2. If it’s a good review, post how great the newspaper is and how happy you are that they’re “spreading Adam’s ‘talent’”, even if you were not at the show.
        3. If the review is negative, do the following, even if you were not at the show:
        a. Post a comment to the article that must include the following words directed at the author: jealous, homophobe, deaf, idiot, liar, ‘looking for hits’, homophobic, hater.
        b. You must threaten to contact the editor/advertisers/etc and demand a retraction or the author be fired.
        c. Be sure to include in your post that Adam has sold out dozens of hundred seat theaters, and that his record went gold/platinum in Uzcrapistan. This will provide proof that he is a ‘superstah!’.
        d. Even though you’ve never met Adam for more than 30 seconds, be sure to mention that he is the sweetest, most honest guy you’ve ever met, and he’s so down to earth and loves his fans so much and is so genuine and sincere and is the greatest person ever.
        e. Repeat step 3 multiple times, using multiple user names.

        ***BTW, here is proof:

        Best comment ever!

        • ross

Okay, which one of you wrote that?

        • Daf

First of all, WHAT A BUNCH OF PUSSIES those Houston editors are. Way to kowtow to the cows, dumbasses. What, a reviewer isn’t allowed TO GIVE HIS REVIEW anymore because it angers and displeases the obnoxious bovine community? These glambarf fans will surely be the death of Madame’s “career”. Mark my words. NOBODY will want to have anything to do with him soon enough. Weren’t the Claymates eventually the end of Clay’s career? I forsee the exact same thing happening to Madame, except WAY more fun to watch.

          • jukejoint

You are aware that this “paper” is a free weekly, right? It’s not a real paper. It’s free. It’s published WEEKLY. Its total revenue comes from its ads If it’s like any of the other alternative weeklies in the world, that means it’s full of ads for escort services and beer bucket night at crappy bars.

I think apologizing is just a way to keep the dispute going and get more comments and more hits. So, good luck with that, Houston Press, where you are undoubtedly thrilled to have ten hits, let alone 700jillion or whatever the Glamberts and their sockpuppets can offer.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

A free alternative weekly, I imagine. No alternative weekly is going to give a positive review to Adam Lambert. Irony is funny. That’s why they call it irony.

Juke, they probably actually get a decent amount of traffic with people looking up show listings and the ilk. If they’re anything like The Boston Phoenix, The Riverfront Times, et al.

          • On The Edge

Nashville Scene is also an alt weekly. Know what they did when when they wrote a not-so-flattering preview of Lambert’s show and got invaded by the Sparkle Cows? Posted another column featuring the funniest ones, plus a “form letter” for all weeklies the next time this shit happens.

Guess Houston Press didn’t get the memo…

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

I think we should move this discussion over to the NEW POST! ;)

      • muzikizmi

Keep it up Glamberts. Adam will love you even more for it. No…really, really love you. Just like in your dreams.

        :-O

  • deez

On a lighter note…MAD MEN tonight!!!!!! I personally think that last week’s episode cannot be topped.

    • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Did you see the previews/recap of this week’s episode? Seems they were posted early over at AMC. This one seems like a good one, and there is one scene with Joan & Dr. Rapist which breaks my heart, but nothing can top last week’s. And this week it appears we will be seeing too much Betty.

      • deez

Yes! It did look like Betty overload. She seemed annoyed in the previews, so I hope Sally is making her life hell. :)

        • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

More than anything, it comes off as she’s not over Don…and Don finally gets cozy with the psychologist-who-would-be-likable-if-she-were-a-brunette.

If Weiner decides to get those two back together at some point, I mean…does anyone WANT that? I can’t see them ever doing that, but then again, who knows. You know me — I just want them to bring back Rachel Menken :)

    • jukejoint

I am watching How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as prep for this week’s episode. Some people drink Old Fashioneds; I watch old Robert Morse movies. He is so cute in this movie. It was made in 67, but we’re up to 65 on MAD MEN, so… Close enough. Love the clothes, love the zippy tone, love J. Pierpont Finch. Ratted hair! Harvest gold desks! Spit curls! Now I totally want Michele Lee to show up as a guest star. She’s a way better love interest for Bert Cooper than Mrs. Blankenship.

      • deez

I saw that a just few weeks ago! LOL. I agree, Michele Lee NEEDS to appear somehow!

  • suew

Has Kerry K. devoted her entire life to spreading the word that her beloved Adam lost the American Idol competition because it was stolen from him by Arkansas, At&t and Chicwhatever? Will she ever move on? If she has that much time on her hands, maybe she can work on books about the real (not imagined) injustices in the world and do something positive instead of sitting around with all that hate inside her.

    • muzikizmi

To answer your first question…yes. She is using sock puppets at sites like USA Today, to get free promotion for her book. She is probably up to 6 or 7 copies sold by now.

Will she ever move on? Probably not until she gives up on the idea of making a fortune by ruining Kris Allen’s career. She obviously thinks she can make money on that, but who would buy her tome, if Kris had no career? Obviously, she didn’t think this through.

      • muzikizmi

Unbelievable, but KK still has posting priveleges at USA Today, even after pimping her book there all weekend. I guess we are left to conclude that USA Today approves of her actions, and is happy to support her book.

        • nerdgirl

USA Today has been trying to do the same thing for a while now – promoting Lambert and knocking down Kris Allen, so it’s not unbelievable at all.

        • muzikizmi

That is true, but I didn’t think they would be this obvious about it.

          • undercooked

Seriously, I doubt USA Today gives a toss about Adam or Kris.

          • muzikizmi

If they don’t, they should close down the Idol Chatter blog.

          • undercooked

Was the Kris Arkansas story in Idol Chatter? I don’t go to that site too often. I know Brian is more of a country fan than an pop fan and he seems to like Kris. My point was about the overall motivation of USA Today. I really don’t think there is a concerted eeffort by the editorial staff of USA Today to bring Kris down.

I hope you can read this post. There is an ad blocking half of my screen while I type. :(

          • undercooked

sorry about the typos, I couldn’t see half of my post before submitting.

          • undercooked

Also wanted to clear up before it causes a fuss. I know Kris is not a country music artist. I would have worded it better if I could have reviewed. I do think Brian of Idol Chatter likes Kris. I also recall Brian being disappointed by Adam and his AMA performance. I just don’t think Brian is anti-Kris. I think Brian’s favorite from S8 was Danny.

        • muzikizmi

Undercooked, when the posts run into the sidebar, you can copy/paste them on the Vista post it notes and read them there. If you don’t have Vista, you can use any word processing program.

There was a post at Idol Chatter talking about Kris’ induction into the Arkansas Entertainer’s Hall of Fame. Kerry hijacked that thread to sell her book. Anyone who pointed that out, has been blocked from posting. They FINALLY took her last post down, where she opening hawked her book.

          • undercooked

Ok, I will give the cut and paste a try. Thanks. :)

So I guess I missed the dust up at Idol Chatter.

Were the posts that we taken down personally attacking Kerry? They might have the rule about that. If that is the case, they should take down the post by Kerry attacking Deez, etc.

I wonder if theIdol Chatter rules are similar to MJ’s. You can attack an idol all you want but not other posters?

I am just surprised people still have the energy to carry on the Adam/Kris fued. For the love of humanity we are moving into Season 10! Steven Tyler is judging along with JLO. I think there is comedy gold to be mined from that pairing.

Also the angst by Cook fans about his album seems more interesting to me. He was a very popular winner so it will be interesting to see how his new album does when it is released in the Spring (by the way, the later drop date has launched more conspiracy theories.)

          • deez

I guess I’m important now. I really don’t know how I gained such a lofty status seeing as how I haven’t even commented on the matter in like three months. I suppose I should take it as a compliment that they feel I’m so influential? Hell, I don’t know.

        • muzikizmi

The Adam/Kris feuds only happen in the Kris threads. That is because it is Kris fans don’t troll the Adam threads, so there is no one there to argue. If USA Today would just stop the trolling, they would also be stopping the feuds. However, that would severely lower the post count, so I guess that is why nothing is done.

I am interested in hearing Cook’s new music. He has been getting some bad press lately, from the same critics who think bashing Kris will help Adam. Apparently they think that adding Cook to the mix will help Adam even more. I don’t get that connection at all. Adam is doing well enough now, that they should leave Kris and Cook alone. They are not one unit. Idol is sometimes as much a curse as a blessing.

          • et

I am at a loss as to the Adam vs. Cook bashing that I’ve seen popping up – why? They could not be more different as artists. I hate the whole Idol mentality of always having to compare them and the rabid fans who can’t let the competition go. It wears me out. I know one thing, when Cook’s album drops I’m staying away from the Internet so I can just enjoy the damn thing (since I will have waited a long time, haha) and then maybe if I feel brave I’ll jump back in the water with the sharks after I’ve digested it. Because at the end of the day, why the hell would I let anyone take away my enjoyment of music for just music’s sake? That’s what music is and always has been to me – I love it when it makes me feel something, when it moves me, whatever. I have never, ever cared about chart positions or any of that crap until the Idol bubble swallowed me up. Well, that’s ALMOST true, I remember being mad as hell in middle school when Michael Jackson didn’t have the #1 song of the year and it was that “99 Red Balloons” song. I was an angry elf, haha.

          • nerdgirl

Adam and Cook are on the same label, so they have to share advertisement dollars. If RCA is still bend on promoting Adam at all cost – too bad for Cook. If RCA comes to their senses and start spending money on Cook instead (who sold way more than Adam) – well, I guess Glamberts are figuring this out.

          • margie

The only reason I can see any connection between Cook and Adam is that they are on the same label RCA. Oh I do think I remember seeing fans of Adam upset that david quit following Adam on twitter. Some stupid bullshit like that.

          • margie

What about Lee then? Isn’t he on RCA also? Is that another fan war waiting to brew?

          • sodagrape

pooporange wants everyone to know (for the zillionth time) that she does not care for David Cook:

TDavid Cook singing or any former contestant singing(except for the established ones) the majority is there to watch the game. DC case the international audiance (not watch AI) good Chance they also will never heard his music or will on the radio and is just a former reality show singer. Football/baseball games it means the game will start,or their off grabbing the muchies/beer.That the sporting public overall will fall in love is just a fantasy excpet for big games its not even big deal in the sports world.

BTW personally am over saturated by David Cook news whom at times seems to take over headlines..goes to a lessor extent for Kris and Adam. I really doubt DC is as big as some think example how some were shocked some peeps did not know him. Like some don’t get other don’t share the same views like thier idol is not a demi-god.

The only reference to Cook in today’s headlines post is a quote from Johnny Rzeznick saying that he wrote songs with Cook and respects him. Who knew that was enough to send pooporange over the edge?

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Why can’t people put a space in following a comma? GRRRRRRRRRRR

        • muzikizmi

Lee hasn’t had any success yet. That is why he is being left alone for now. If his first single off his upcoming album takes off, he will be added to the bash Kris and Cook list.

          • et

Oh, yes, Lee will definitely be added to the pile if he has any sort of success. And Daughtry is on RCA too, right? That makes sense, then, because Daughtry-bashing has been popping up in Glambert land too. Though I did recently stumble into a scary psycho hive of Cook-hating Daughtry fans on Twitter, lol. Ah, Idol. It’s such a fun little world, isn’t it?

          • undercooked

Actually, one of the theories floating around is that Cook’s release date was pushed to Spring so it wouldn’t compete with Lee’s. Originally, people thought Cook’s second album would drop this Fall so it could have the benefit of the holiday shopping season.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

I forgot about Phil DeWheezy. Who is he again?

          • muzikizmi

Short, squatty guy who sings like Hinderback.

          • caspar

Hee, you guys are making me laugh while I wait (probably in vain) for Cook’s ‘America the Beautiful’ on the US Open finals. Ugh, football dragged on for EVER.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

David Cook is singing at the US Open? Why isn’t Adam Lambert? Tennis is homophobic!

          • muzikizmi

Adam is singing after the Tampa Rays baseball game tonight (I think it’s tonight. I zone out before they get to that part in the tv commerical). You know tennis just isn’t butch enough for an ‘alpha male’ like Adam.

          • caspar

The Rays?! heh. And why is he singing afterthe game? Just checked YouTube, and interestingly, he’s never sung the national anthem, except during his Idol homecoming. Hmm.

          • muzikizmi

Oh geez! Adam’s concert after the baseball game is next week. Great. I have to zone out those commercials for another week. The guy really gets the publicity.

Casper, the crowd is already there after the ballgame, so it is easy to get a ‘sold out’!!1!11!!

          • caspar

Eh, yeah, actually that’s what Cook had at that soccer game earlier this summer, so I guess I can’t mock AL too much. It’s just, Madam + sports = ???

          • Pandora

            Isn’t Lambert’s next album supposed to come out in the spring too? Wouldn’t that put him head-to-head against Cook? [plans to buy stock in popcorn this winter}

          • et

Why can’t people put a space in following a comma?

Maybe she was drunk from “muchies” and beer ;)

          • jukejoint

Could I get some meatrolls with those muchies and beer?

          • muzikizmi

Oh goodness. If Adam and Cook go head to head on album sales, don’t look for a lot of PR for Cook. The 19E machine will do whatever it takes for Adam to outsell Cook, so that he can then be the best selling male from Idol, in the digital download era.

Remember you read it here first. Adam already outsold Cook, and the tracks aren’t even finished yet.

    • Blue Eyes

Who in their right mind even cares about this anymore? Unbelievable! Adam Lambert is doing great, selling out his concerts and all his dreams are coming true – what more does this nutcase want?

Chik-Fil-A: Please come to the NE! I’m hearing great things about your food!!

      • suew

Its amazing to me that people are having fan wars about any of these people. On a lighter note, can I just say that a honey crisp apple, sharp cheddar and a pretzel from the farmers market is the best Sunday lunch ever?

When I get a chance to come on, I love reading this blog. Always makes me laugh. The fact that KK is still at it is hilarious. She really needs a new hobby. I think charities are always looking for people. A lawyer who has too much time on her hands might be useful at a womens shelter or such.

        Have a great Sunday everyone!

        • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Exactly. The fact that KK is still at it is hilarious.

I really cannot imagine going at something so meaningless with that much fervor for an extended period of time. All of the Glamberts have moved onto bashing those “homephobic” reviewers and withering over their Glamlord force-feeding the little bassist his tongue on an almost-nightly basis. Yet KK is still going at it about the great injustice of him placing second.

        • jackson

Didn’t KK lose her license to practice law in Florida. She’s probably hard up for money.

          • MissMyEm

Was KK really a lawyer? Or is that another legend in her own mine type deal?

          • MissMyEm

Oops. Post below should read…legend in her own mind.

    • scoutfinch

“pooporange wants everyone to know (for the zillionth time) that she does not care for David Cook:”

sodagrape, I’m impressed with you for even being able to comprehend pooporange’s statements. Thanks for translating for us!

      • sodagrape

Multiple years at MJ’s has honed my pooporange to English translation skills to near fluency.

        • et

LOL, is there a “pooporange translator” that I can download onto my computer? It makes my head hurt to even get through a sentence.

  • bananaCars

So it’s my first time posting but I just wanted to see how my monster looked like.

    • scoutfinch

      Cute monster, bananaCars!

      • justpeachy

Welcome, bananaCars. And I agree, your monster is a cutie. Maybe too cute…

        • JaneRochester

Yeah, those eyelashes are just begging for some attention.

    • Miz

You have a cute monster, Bananacars! You can hang with me. I am obviously a social butterfly.

      • MissMyEm

Miz…I think I’m a social butterfly too. We look alike. Welcome Bananacars.

        • MissMyEm

Oh nevermind. We don’t look alike actually. I look more like a headless chicken.

    • Blue Eyes

Your pink monster is very girly! Love the lipstick and long eyelashes!

      • bananaCars

thanks! *flutters eyelids* I think my arms look buff enough too!

        • scoutfinch

PLUS, you look as if you’re waiting for your awesome manicure to dry!

        • Beanbag

Ahh, I want bananaCars pretty pinkness and fluttery eyes! *stomps spider feet and skitters away*

          • Daf

Beanbag, at least you don’t have this stupid thing coming out of your head.

          • deez

At least you get good reception. I got nuthin’.

    • Daf

Only on clear nights tho, deez. My arms aren’t even long enough to scratch the bottom of my chin crotch.

      • rehabilitard

        I wish I had hands…. *sniff sniff*

        • muzikizmi

I have great long, limber arms, but no legs. :(

            But you float, dammit!! FLOAT!!!!!

        • jukejoint

Cousin Rehab, you should be happy you got the adorable family eye and fabulous blowhole. There are monsters who would KILL for those attractive features!

  • comer

I wouldn’t know; I’ve never been to Chik-Fil-A. I heard they just added one in downtown LA. The first in this area. I’m curious though to see what all the hypes about. I am a chicken sandwich fan after all. :)

    • muzikizmi

The hype is deserved, because the chicken actually looks and tastes like chicken. It is not a white spongy mass, that is made from grinding chicken fat and soy into something that tastes vaguely like chicken.

      • JaneRochester

OMG. “White spongy mass.” That’s the most disgusting thing I’ve heard in a long while. Thanks! ;)

        • JaneRochester

PS The one that just opened in Aurora is only about 1.15hr from me. THey’re getting closer! I may actually get to try this stuff some day.

    • MissMyEm

They’ve just added one in my area, in Northern L.A. and I’ve got some offers for some freebies so I’m planning on giving it a whirl. I am not into fast food at all, except the occasional El Pollo Loco, but…I’m going to try. Love the commercial, btw.

      • JaneRochester

Mmmmm….El Pollo Loco. Quite possibly the only thing I miss since moving from SoCal.

      • MissMyEm

Several hours later: It really is pretty good. Thanks Kris for sharing.

    • Miz

Darn them. The LA Chik-Fil-A is off USC campus. I was hoping it was downtown in walking distance of the courthouses. I have jury duty in 2 weeks and thought I could do some research on my lunch hour.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and see a lawler hawking some conspiracy books without a seller’s license and can make a citizen’s arrest.

  • jackson

Hey all, I came out of lurkdom to share a post on USA Today, IdolChatter. Looks like maybe KK is trying to strike back over chick-fil-a. It could be her mother or her “friend”. I really enjoy reading all your posts, you guys are a lot of fun. Delete this if it is inappropriate.

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/comments/2010/09/kris-allen-joins-arkansas-entertainers-hall-of-fame/2

“Why would anyone want to honor a cheater in the Hall of Fame? Kris Allen’s fans in Arkansas cheated for his win and now the Arkansas Hall of Fame condones it? (Read “American idol Vote Scam” by Kerry Kolsch) People at Top Idol like Deez and that “Wickedly Dark” are supporters of Allen and his cheating. This disgraceful behavior is not going to delay Kris’s march toward obscurity. It is Karma that Allen is losing support faster than a cow can swat flies. Speaking of cows we all know that Allen is aligned with the homophobics at Chick=-fil-A who helped AT&T with the cheating. I am one of Adam’s biggest fans and I will not stop until everyone knows how the weasel Allen won and who is covering up the truth.”

    • mtlfan

omg one has to read it to believe it exists. I clicked “report abuse” on this comment and added a mention of “psychotic speech”. That sums it pretty well

      • jackson

I reported her too. I looked her other posts and most of them are hating on Kris and his win.

        • mtlfan

the majority of the other posters are congratulating Kris

    • et

That’s just some crazy shit. Maybe Deez should get her scepter back and zap *that* crazy freak.

      • jackson

Looks like the “report abuse” button works, the post is gone. That was fast.

      • Miz

I reported the post that provides personal identifying information about a private individual who has nothing to do with Kris Allen or, for that matter, USA Today and this article. Who could that private individual be? Why none other than the lovely and acerbic Queen Deez!

I also asked why they are not blocking the IP addresses of these obvious trolls.

As an aside, has KK been sued and shut down for lifting copyrighted material from various papers to support her claims? There is another ‘stellar’ lawler out of Vegas who buys up copyrights from papers (including Arkansas papers) and sues the crap out of bloggers. Why is he not suing someone who is blatantly stealing and profiting from stolen goods?

    • muzikizmi

It’s back. She reposted it one hour ago.

      • jackson

        Reported again

    • Salleyanne

These people are unbelievable. Don’t they have better things to do with their time than to spread this crock of s&*t?

      • muzikizmi

It is amazing. Spewing hatred at Kris Allen, occupies their entire existance.

    • JaneRochester

Speaking of cows we all know that Allen is aligned with the homophobics at Chick-fil-A who helped AT&T with the cheating.”

Can anyone translate this into English for me? I feel like I’m flashing over to the convo in another thread about incoherent writing.

      • Ittybittybear

Is it possible I could have had some homophobic lemonade and some homophobic chicken nuggets just yesterday and missed it?

        • ross

Coming soon, to a comments section near you. Ranting with pride since May 20th, 2009.

          • JaneRochester

No one is addressing the truly important question here. Does this mean Katy has to spot-treat the grease stains on Kris’s collar in the morning?

  • jukejoint

That’s kind of odd, since all they use is “feast from these crumbs.” “Barrel of a gun” part comes next and that makes you think of the poor chickens, shivering with fear while looking at Kristy Lee Cook and her rifle. Can’t have that!

I need to get over to Urbana to the food court at the Illini Union where they apparently have one of these. Since they’re adding one in Orland Park, maybe they have plans to spread out a little into Illinois.

Oh, Chick-Fil-A, why have you forsaken us?

    • Pandora

The fact that an actual reputable profit-making business is using something from Kris rather than Lambert is driving them off the cliff, I think.

Remember, by now Lambert was supposed to be modeling for Armani and every other brand of menswear, he was supposed to have his own cologne, his own line of makeup, his own fashion line, etc…. because he’s such an alpha male that every man wants to be like him.

  • Burgundy LaRue

A bit off-topic, but didn’t Rachael Ray use a Kris song for the TV ad promoting the new season of her talk show? Not sure if Live Like We’re Dying was used or if it was another song. But it seems like Ms. Yum-O Rachael is in cahoots with the growing list of conspirators bent on bring Kris Allen Domination upon us. :-)

    • margie

Yes Rachael Ray uses it in the promo for her new season.

      http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/club/give … y-a-dayS5/

    • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Ooooh. Not good. I loathe Rachael Ray. I loathe her something fierce. And I have done so since I stumbled upon $40 a Day in 2002…

      • Pandora

Hey, me too! I hate Rachael Ray as much as I hate Julia Roberts!

        • ophelia64

Add me to the Rachel hate, with her sammies and her e-v-o-o. Sheesh, quit with the bubble bubble, I’m so perky already.

  • J

Damn it now I have to go pick up an original chicken sandwich and carrot raisin salad for lunch today. The main reason I eat chik-fil-a is that there is often a guy in a cow suit with a spin to win wheel at our mall. You spin the wheel and win coupons or little stuffed cows. I always seem to end up with a free sandwich coupon.

  • kimberly

Even Katy Perry (this made me smile, must have killed some of the cray cray Adam fans) tweeted about about Chik-Fil-A, trying to choose between it and In & Out Burger. Add Rob Thomas to the list as well. I think they all just want that oversized cow or help winning a singing competition. CT doesn’t have Chik-Fil-A. This year I wanted to try it when we were traveling to NC, but, of course, it was a Sunday when we came across one. Last year, I spotted one on the way back home to CT, but it was closed — Sunday. That’s really being devout. Finally got a Sonic in the area. My daughter’s newest ambition is to be a roller-skating waitress along with superstar rapper. She pretty much knows the entrie Eminem Recovery CD (edited version, although a few of the other CDs aren’t, makes my husband crazy). I’m amazed by her recall — there’s like a bazillion words. I think it benefits her scholastically, her memorization skills are enviable.

And on the KK subject, I’m amazed by some of the delusional Adam fans who actually reference her book as a reputable source, proof postive of Allen’s corrupt win. The level of stupidity I’ve come across online is mind-boggling.

    • deez

I’m amazed by some of the delusional Adam fans who actually reference her book as a reputable source

A great many of those are sockpuppets.

      • muzikizmi

Deez, Kerry Kolsch (Darcey McGee at USA Today) has gone off the deep end. She gives your screen name and a supposed real name in her attack. Please sue her and make lots of money.

        http://content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2010/09/kris-allen-joins-arkansas-entertainers-hall-of-fame/1#uslPageReturn

        • DeeDee

Wow she really did that! She also posted a supposed real name for Wickedly Dark. It’s getting vicious over there. I think our friend Gene has also made an appearance to slam Top Idol and the posters here. I’m not a lawyer or even a lawler, but I don’t know if posting real names is illegal. If it is, sue her crazy ass.

          • JaneRochester

I haven’t seen Wickedly Dark since he/she posted That Infamous Review, and yet they’re still harping. WTF? Keep up with the times, people!

I’ll bet posting real names is totally legal. But if they’ve strayed into libel, well, that’s another story [off to read post]

        • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

The thread is now out of control. Comment threads are time capsules of craziness.

          • ross

Imagine, back in the day, when people had to write a letter to the editor to give feedback? And if it was some crazy shit, the editor would simply throw it in the trash can.

          • JaneRochester

Hmmm. Pretty sure that would be a violation of their first amendment rights.

The Internet: Protecting the Constitution since 1995

          • ross

Why are there comments sections, anyway?

          • JaneRochester

Haven’t you heard? The Internet is the Great Equalizer! Everyone gets a voice!

Which brings to mind Flannery O’Connor’s great response to a question a back in the day:

Q: Do you think the university stifles writers?

FO: I don’t think it stifles enough of them.

          • jukejoint

What do you think would be a violation of somebody’s First Amendment rights, JaneR? Not understanding…

In answer to Ross, in my opinion, there are comments section as an involvement device and to provide positive stats for the site. It makes it seem popular if it has lots of comments. This is why EW and others keep posting shite about Adam, good, bad or indifferent. They know a storm of glitter will surround their site and fill up the comments in no time. And then they say GAZILLION PAGE VIEWS!! GAZILLION COMMENTS!!! Pay me to stick your banner ads here!!!

          • JaneRochester

Not printing everything they say, because it’s all valid and it’s all important because it’s MY THOUGHTS DAMMIT. I’M ALL THAT MATTERS!!!!

            /sarcasm

  • On The Edge

Well shit, maybe Kerry was right in a sense…not about the cheating and rigged contest, that’s just silly. But it sure seems that Chik-Fil-A’s big national push is riding nicely on Kris’ coattails….

(kidding, it’s just coincidental timing, that’s all.)

*Sigh* CFA was our nice little secret. I should have known something was up when they started doing their waffle fries in canola oil. Next they’ll be forced to make their lemonade with HFCS, then they’ll open on Sundays, and soon PETA will turn their ire away from KFC to the new chicken shop in town.

  • Legend

Argh! Fail! Maybe this will work……

    • Daf

      LOL. God bless you, Chik-Fil-A.

    • jukejoint

I like that version way better than the original. Maybe Kristy Lee Cook can take that one up. And she could butcher the chicken while singing the song! She’s multi-talented, that girl.

  • FreeDavidCook

A whole wheat bagel with scrambled eggs, cheese and a fried chicken breast for breakfast! Carrot Raisin salad, chicken salad sandwiches, brownies that are almost orgasm inducing…. lemonade.. there are many reasons to eat there.. those are just a few of my favorites. I’d sell my granny to the Arabs for the breakfast sandwich.

Only 3 fast food chains rate an “A” from Health Magazine:

    A-
•Chick Fil-A – Slipped from A+ last year. “Only two entrees break the 500-calorie barrier”
•Subway – “An impressive selection of 6-inch sandwiches with less than 400 calories”
•Jamba Juice – “Jamba Juice makes plenty of real-deal smoothies, but their menu is sullied with more than a few faux-fruit blends.”

    Breakfasty goodness:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(hate me yet?) This was all good until somebody decided to make a Chick fil A /Jelly Krispy Kreme sandwich. Ugh. Really people weren’t the fried Snickers bars enough?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

    • jukejoint

Speaking of the 500 calorie barrier… We got a new Dairy Queen a lot closer to my house, and this summer, we were bopping over there practically every night. Until I found out that the small Blizzards are all in the 600+ calorie range. What??? A freakin Blizzard with more calories than that chicken-on-a-Krispy-Kreme sandwich? WHAT??

      • deez

These fast food places are sneaky. I used to get Marketfresh Turkey sandwiches @Arby’s (it’s turkey, swiss and veggies on whole wheat …how bad could that be????)when I had eat fast food, until I discovered it was around 800 cals. I should’ve been eating cheeseburgers

    • deez

Where did Krispy Kreme sandwich go??? What’s that last picture??

      • jukejoint

I can still see the Krispy Kreme sandwich. And no, it isn’t burned on my retina. I actually see it, right where it was before.

I am starting to think we have all fallen into some graphic Twilight Zone.

        • deez

I see a line drawing of a family at a dinner table. It’s captioned “Everyday”.

          • JaneRochester

We’ve been hacked by Kerry. I’m tellin’ ya…

          • deez

            Sandwich is back. Spooky.

  • et

Waffle fries? I dunno, my kids like the waffle fries. And they have a pretty fresh-tasting fruit cup. I know, I’m struggling here, but I’m trying to give up meat so I haven’t had Chik’n in a while. It does seem to be very popular these days – there’s this fast food lover’s paradise in the Chantilly, VA area that has every fast food joint right together (seriously – Pizza Hut, McD’s, Burger King, Arby’s, Wendy’s, Chik-Fil-A) and the line for Chik’n is always HUGE.

Oh, and their peach milkshakes were awesome. And my kids claim their nuggets are the best ever. Heh.

I hope Kerry’s head is spinning, spinning, spinning and she’s frothing at the mouth and yelling “Kris Allen! Cheater!” in her best skeery voice. Hee.

    • On The Edge

Their nuggets ARE awesome, precisely because you can tell it’s freaking chicken. Most “nuggets” are “mechanically separated and molded” chicken…oh let’s tell the truth, they put the whole chicken, beak, feet and all, into a grinder, blend the resulting chicken mush with filler, and press it out into cookie-cutter shapes. CFA on the other hand takes an honest-to-God tenderloin and cuts it into bite-sized pieces, as it should be.

      • margie

I always get the deluxe grilled chicken sandwich (deluxe they add the lettuce and tomato), waffle fries, and a lemonade. It is very yummy. Their grilled chicken salads are really good too.

CFA is very generous with coupons too. I probably get a free sandwich coupons twice a month in the mail.

      • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Actually, that’s not how they make nuggets in the U.S., but in other countries, yes…did you see Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution when he shows the kids how chicken nuggets are made?

        • On The Edge

I must have missed that episode…I was going by what I saw in “Super Size Me.”

        • rehabilitard

I thin that is exactly how they make nuggets in the US, bones, feet and everything. Jamie’s Food Revolution was about US food industry.

          • rehabilitard

            *think*

Check that episode again, trust me ;)

We were sad too, TI :( ROBBED!!!
