Idol Quickies: July 16, 2010

2010 July 17

Yes! Thursday’s late night sandwich party happened. And I waited to post. I apologize. Here is Big Mike and a deli counter and Casey James dressed in funny pajamas or something.

But he did not want to disappoint! ROUND 2! Bologna, pastrami, black pepper and LOVE.

I do worry about Big Mike’s caloric intake. He’s a big dude. He might need to be careful.

American Idol wants us to believe 20,000 people are auditioning in Nashville this weekend. Nashville, being the music capital of the American South, well, this will likely be their most hit-up stop, but…20,000 people still want to be on this show?

Former Idol contestant Alex Lambert and current If I Had a Dream resident went to the Playboy Mansion. And he’s gonna write with Cisco Adler, who is best known for dating Mischa Barton AND hanging out with infamous America’s Next Top Model finalist, Lisa. Now what I don’t get is…I thought these people were forced to move out when they got jobs. And they seem to be getting a lot of jobs, even that terribly untalented Justin Gaston person. So why are they still in the house?

Spread the word. Do it.

AI season 2 was never seen in my country so I don’t really care much about Ruben and Clay but I came across this and was all WTF? about Clay’s pants but they seem to be having so much fun. Hope this posts OK as I haven’t posted a tubie here before

    • Verbally Dyslexic

I’m not very familiar with season 2 either, but onstage together these two seem to have great chemistry and are just a couple of goofballs.

  • Miz

I’ve noticed many people saying they got a virus or trojan from visiting mj’s site (and probably others), or they have severe slow down and crashing issues, etc. I use a Mac, so the virus/trojan thing has never affected me. Slowdown and site crashing has.

I dealt with the Flash ad problems by getting the free ‘ClickToFlash’ plug-in. There is a similar app for Windows users called ‘FlashBlock’. (If you use MS Internet Explorer … get yourself a better browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox)

The downside is that you have to double click to get youtube and other flash videos to load, but I’d rather deal with that minor inconvenience than have all the other crap.

    • jukejoint

I use Firefox with NoScript and that does just fine.

    • saskin

I hope MJ reads this because it happens to0 be true. My anti-virus software always issues warnings for MJ’s and my netbook (that does not have an AV software) got a very annoying virus that locks everything up from her site.

      • saskin

BTW I use Firefox too. Still got the virus.

        • Miz

Hi, saskin! I didn’t mean to imply that you wouldn’t or couldn’t get a virus using a different browser. I just mean that there are generally more problems overall using Internet Explorer.

I own and administer a website and whenever one of my members has a problem using it, just the first question I ask is ‘What browser are you using?’ The answer is always ‘Internet Explorer’. Switching to Safari, Firefox, or Google Chrome fixes their issues. The company that hosts my site will no longer attempt to fix ‘bugs’ if they only affect MSIE users.

  • cc

OT (and probably TI may not like it post here) but I don’t know, it’s kinda funny. *hope the link works*

    http://tweetphoto.com/34978145

    his “looks” looked familiar…

    • deez

A dead ringer if you squint a little.

    • JaneRochester

Who’s in the picture? What are they doing? I’ve been trying to look at it for four hours now and keep getting told the site is too busy. I’m dying of curiosity here.

      • Lauren

Me too! Damn site is overflowing! Grrr!

      • jukejoint

It’s just that guy from If I Can Dream who used to date Miley Cyrus. I guess they think he looks like Kris Allen, but I saw it after MAD MEN and thought he looked like Peggy’s new assistant (or whatever he was) played by Matt Long.

        • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

          He’s a freelance copywriter.

And jesusfrakingchrist, he does not look like Kris Allen. Kris Allen and Mad Men have nothing to do with one another, and I will pull out my hair if I see this again. I also have now begun to love my hair, so please don’t make me do this.

          • jukejoint

I said I GUESS they think it looks like Kris Allen, but I don’t. I was guessing that based on the original post. It is NOT the guy from Mad Men. I think this person, Jason Gaston, who was on If I Can Dream and dated Miley Cyrus, looks more like the new copywriter on Mad Men than he looks like Kris Allen. I don’t get why saying he DOESN’T look like Kris Allen is actionable, and I’m NOT the one who put his picture here and intimated that he did, but whatever.

          • jukejoint

And I was just trying to be nice and identify the picture, since I was apparently one of the few people who could see it.

Won’t do it again. Don’t worry.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

            HA HA HA :)

I just had no idea what was going on!!

          • Lauren

LOL I had a feeling you were a little lost ;)

    • Lauren

He’s a cutie! Miley doesn’t deserve him! Don’t see the Kris Allen resemblance though. Oh, and deep breaths, TI, deep breaths.

      • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Wait…Miley Cyrus dates the new guy in Mad Men? (although I really think we should take this discussion over to the MAD MEN OPEN THREAD and kill this Idol Quickies one. Yes yes, I will post a new one when I get the chance.)

        • Lauren

No, the guy in the picture! Or that’s what Juke said. But…I don’t watch Mad Men!

        • cc

LOL! TI, the pic is Justin Gaston, Miley’s ex, and he just cut his hair. And I agree that he doesn’t look like Kris Allen but his outfit in that photo looked familiar (white tee, guitar, water bottle, necklace). Yeah, it’s kinda silly. :)

          • deez

Yeah. That’s why I said if you squint your eyes, lol. The clothes and hair could pass…maybe he thought the outfit was why Kris got a better reception @ the concert?

      Oh, Scott! xD

    • mtlfan

      that was funny :D

    • JaneRochester

      I blame Twitter.

  • ross

The guy probably wants to be there – to me, Adam is a Vegas-type act, and a lot of older people love that – just like they loved Liberace. I remember some older friends of my parents who saw Liberace in Vegas. “Say what you want but he puts on a damn good show.” lol

They like a big show, “socko entertainment.” Subtlety is not what they’re into. This is the kind of thing middle America likes.

    • ross

Oops, this was in reply to deez, waaay down at the bottom of the page.

    • JaneRochester

Careful what you say about Middle America, Ross. We may get testy. ;)

The way I look at it is this: Adam’s no fool. Them seniors got money? Sign me up!

      Sincerely,

      a long-time Wayne Newton fan

      • ross

Oh, JaneR,sorry, no offense! Tthe people I was talking about in my post were from Boston, and the people at the Adam concert were from California, so I guess I just meant “average Americans.” Wasn’t referring to the geographical middle. I misspoke. :)

        • JaneRochester

          Well, all right then. :P

Oh, and I misspelled a word above. That should have been “tessty.”

  • jukejoint

Remember what we said about fan wars being funny till somebody puts an eye out?

CindyVela just tweeted update about Kris’s MV shoot.

I’m assuming Kris is at this shoot, although he does have a concert tonight in Phoenix.

  • caspar

Wow. Kris’s concert thread on MJ’s has almost 500 comments on it, compared to Adam’s 158.

    • jazz

Guess that’s why someone had to stop by & allege that all the comments came from two people. lol

      • deez

LOL!!! I guess now we need a Post Comments Numbers Post. As soon soon as AO gets wind of that they will come over to spam, so they will be declared the “winners” after all.

        • ross

I was trying to make peace on earth and goodwill to Glamberts, so I said something about that comment by larc not being bad. I think I scared off the new poster from the Philippines who came out of lurking just to prove the comment was false. *slaps self on forehead.* Waddanasshole.

          • mtlfan

            don’t worry. she’ll post again :)
larc has a snark tendancy and his comment was kind of
true indeed – who would bother for an exact count anyway..
oh wait not sure someone couldn’t do it… haha

        • muzikizmi

Yep. I wince everytime I see one of the Kris fans post a link to a radio station poll about The Truth at MJs. You know it is just a call to arms to the Glamberts, who will go vote it down. Geesh, at least make them go to a Kris site to get stuff to use against him. Don’t post it on their home turf. And MJs is undoubtedly Glambert turf.

          • ross

I know! I have the same reaction. There was a post like that about “whch Idol will do better?” on Mix104.1 (Boston). Kris vs. Adam. Kris was ahead, and someone on MJ’s had to boast about it. Next thing you know, big stampede, and Adam had won the poll 7 to 1.

      • mtlfan

lol ….”if you call them, they’ll come”

lmao deez on the “Post comments Numbers Post”. Yay we need more stats (not) haha

        • ross

          The “thread posts stats thread”.

    • oddgirl

He had two shows last night (both sold out) which is one reason for more posts than usual on that thread. Here is the gorgeous acoustic version of TMYFML he performed in the 2nd show last night

      • oddgirl

Also, a funny incident happened when he had to run off stage in the middle of Is It Over so he could pee! Here is a twit vid of him talking about this. No video of the actual moment has shown up yet. Kris is really really good at making fun of himself.

        http://www.twitvid.com/RAJBB

(PS – re: TMYFML — this was the first time he’d performed that song live since way back in October)

  • muzikizmi

Taylor Hicks is on Fox and Friends right now. It looks like he has learned to control the spaz. This is going to seriously damage my cool factor, but he sounds great. Between the gray hair and his sagging neck, he could pass for late 40′s.

    • deez

I actually sorta like him too. *hides face* Drunk uncles are fun.

      • ross

He’s a good singer. I like to give him the benefit of the doubt since he’s the media’s poster boy for “unsuccessful” Idol winners. Even though he makes, like, over 300,000 dollars a year.
I’d like to be that unsuccessful.

        • deez

Me too! (and so would all the people who trash him relentlessly, I’d bet)

    • JaneRochester

I’m in my late 40s. Gonna go kill myself now.

  • w.dark

I’m only a couple of hundred responses into this massive thread now, but I have a couple of things coming to mind.

Firstly, the blogwars and idiocy is out of hand. But who is really at fault? What I gather is that one or two people who regularly post here went over to MJ’s and trolled her comments, starting a shitstorm. Yet MJ has posted about having to deal with several trolling individuals. (Incidentally, reading her responses leaves a distate. I respect the bloggers on both sides are friendly, but what I read was rude, defensive, and full of entitlement and blame. I’d have more respect for someone who says “It’s my blog – deal with it or leave it alone” than for someone who insists there is no bias or uneven application of the rules – when there are people who say otherwise.)

Regardless – the point of this post was to advise/inform/enlighten both sides about some of the trolling issues… I’ve seen posts (from mostly private communities, where some of TI’s previous trolls organized an invasion, and their ‘private’ chats) and screencaps by (mostly anon) posters who are having a real hearty laugh over the fanwars – and admitting that they’re behind a lot of the trolling. Someone caught wind of deez’s concern post and took it to another level, pretending to be “TopIdolers” going and causing a shitstorm at MJ’s.

I’ve only seen the caps from some MJs comments, because I don’t even bother going over there anymore. (Count me as one who has had several worm/trojan attacks from banner ads in the past, and every post freezes up my browser. I gave up.) But before laying blame or calling out a whole group of posters, perhaps being absolutely certain of their origins would be prudent.

Nonetheless – the trollers got what they wanted and are enjoying the insanity from their safe havens.

    • Salleyanne

The “shitstorm” started a long time before any TI posters went trolling.

    • ross

Thanks for the informative post, w.dark.

I’ve seen posts (from mostly private communities, where some of TI’s previous trolls organized an invasion, and their ‘private’ chats) and screencaps by (mostly anon) posters who are having a real hearty laugh over the fanwars – and admitting that they’re behind a lot of the trolling.

Just so this is clear, it sounds like these people are exreme Lambert fans, but you don’t say. I only ask because I don’t like it when “all fandoms” are blamed for this kind of thing. It doesn’t seem fair when it isn’t the case.

Someone caught wind of deez’s concern post and took it to another level, pretending to be “TopIdolers” going and causing a shitstorm at MJ’s.

So that explains where those posts from other people came from. If any of these people are MJ’s regulars, no wonder I get so annoyed by their posts. They seem to be expert troublemakers.

At any rate, thanks for the info, it’s all much clearer to me now.

      • muzikizmi

I am sure MJ will be by at any moment for going off on this entire board. Yeah, well…..not holding my breath. The hard core Glamberts have been manipulating her like Playdoh for a year and a half, so I am assuming at this point, that she likes it like that.

        • muzikizmi

Ooops, that was supposed to read, ‘be by at any moment to apologize for’

      • w.dark

@ross – from what I’ve seen, a vast majority of these trolls are glamberts (but don’t consider themselves that – they mock glamberts), some claim to like Kris (but they call everyone over here “krisberts”) and some ship/tinhat Kradam. 99% of their posts are anonymous on the public areas. I can’t say for certain who was trolling – Glamberts or non. But the point was to get TI and MJs posters turning on each other – or so it would seem.

Of course, IMO – it’s not like the Glamberts care to know who is trolling them. They’ll cling to the first suspect and attack relentlessly anyway.

        • ross

          Thanks again, w.dark.

When you mention shipping and tinhatting it becomes somewhat clearer who you’re referencing. Most are younger girls, it seems. I don’t think they’re fans, because they’re more interested in some kind of fantasy version of these people than the real performers. It’s like they use the performers for their own purposes. I don’t think they have respect for them and I don’t think they’re what I would call fans.

          • ross

…But I admit I don’t know all that much about them, so I’m probably not even qualified to give an opinion.

          • muzikizmi

w.dark said the “vast majority” are Glamberts. It does follow their pattern.

    • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

Can you send me this information? I know those Billou assholes have been trying to organize something. LAME.

    • saskin

This makes a lot of sense w.dark. Thanks. I knew TI’ers wouldn’t troll and deez was just joking (and she was very justified) so that wasn’t trolling either..

      • ross

        What’s Billou?

        • deez

One of those ONTD community things.

          • deez

            I think it’s bllollu (ONTD_bllollu or some shit) ,…WD?

          • muzikizmi

Didn’t that bllollu crap start when Danny Gokey accidentally sat on his iphone and ‘tweeted’ those letters as a message? I recall something like that happening from the tour bus last year.

          • deez

I googled it, and yes, that seems to have been the origin.

      • deez

Thanks WD. I like to snark, and I’m pretty sure a couple of people hate me for it, but I’m not malicious and wouldn’t stoop to that bullshit. If anybody ever wants to know if I “did” something, all they’d have to do is come here and look (or ask me), because I would admit it.
I don’t like other people getting blamed for something I did, so I wasn’t too happy when everybody seemed to be getting it because of my comment. I just figured that what I said must have gotten a lot of complaints from regulars or something. Generally, MJ doesn’t go off after ONE comment, so I gotta admit…I was puzzled. Now I’m wondering if these bllollidiots are responsible for some the concern trolling that we’ve credited to Glamberts (there WERE some unfamiliar usernames)? I also wonder if the same people have been trolling Adam posts pretending to be us? (I mean in addition to the debacle from a couple of days ago) We’ve seen, ourselves, that they certainly like to troll…they’ve been here a couple of times recently. Jerks.

        • ross

Thanks for answering, deez. I once happened on a tweet from someone who was planning to throw a pair of boxers onstage during Kris’s set at the Idols concert. Then when it happened, I saw the site where they were all congratulating themselves for having done it. Probably the site you mentioned. I get the uncomfortable feeling they don’t know how to respect people’s boundaries, or it’s all about them, or whatever.

I’m wondering if these bllollidiots are responsible for some the concern trolling that we’ve credited to Glamberts (there WERE some unfamiliar usernames)?

Possibly, but, at least for me, most of the same-shit-different-day stuff has definitely come from that well-known handful of pissy Adam fans.

          • ross

Anyway, maybe the lesson to be learned here is summed up in the Chinese proverb, “Never wake a sleeping tiger.” At least, Jennifer Jones said it was a Chinese proverb, in Love Is A Many Splendored Thing. lol

          • deez

Hopefully, now MJ can get this sorted out.

        • jmom376

Deez: There was a lot of baiting crap being posted for a couple of days before you posted. The concert results threads are the worse because there are a few people just clamoring to prove to everyone that Kris is a failure because of his concert sales #’s. The tension was getting pretty high and it was a very uncomfortable place for Kris fans to be in almost every thread except for Kris’s. That’s why a lot of his fans stay in his concert threads or have stopped going there at all. I think you just happened to post at the boiling point of all of the crap. So don’t feel bad.

          • DeeDee

Deez, please do not feel responsible for this mess. You posted one time (and it was funny as hell). I personally think MJ should relax a little. So what if people here copy the stupid things that are said on her site and make fun of it? I agree trolling her site to make trouble is not right but Deez’ comment was obvious snark, which is much much better than what the concern trolls do. I also would not e-mail her to complain about what is posted. It’s her site and she can post whatever she wants.

          • ross

Yeah, things were pretty bad. Good timing, there, deez! (Just kidding.) Um, I never have looked at the concert stats thread, since I totally don’t give a fuck.

But in the headlines thread the way people were going after the fact that Kris’s video is late (even with alaadam posting stats to prove that the number of days from song release to video shoot was greater than for all other idols — like, really, who gives a shit??) got me going. That was the time I nearly posted something identical to your post (but without the funny). I was furiously typing “Okay, let me recap. Jive sucks, Kris sucks,” and so forth. Then: backspace, backspace, backspace.

So, yeah, the baiting there lately has been fierce (no pun intended) and somebody was bound to write it, it just happened to be you.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

The video shoot? They’re bitching about that? How funny. I’m sure the entire story about why it took “longer than usual” will come out soon…trust me.

          • deez

That’s good to know. Like you said, the Kris concert threads were basically all I ever spent any real time in, because they were pleasant.(sometimes the S9 tour thread, and I like to read the headlines). I had no idea any of that had been going on. I clicked on Concert Stats out of curiosity and was floored.

I couldn’t be expected to pass up snarking 2 pages of that stuff, could I? (well, in hindsight, yes…but not at the time) I had no clue that was an ongoing kerfuffle.

          • ross

Someone here said of the concert stats thread, recently, it’s “All Glamberts, all the time.” That wouldn’t be the group I’d choose to go camping with.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

You wouldn’t go camping with Glamberts. They don’t go camping. They go GLAMPING! ;)

          • ross

At least your post gave me a huge laugh.

          • deez

alaadam posting stats to prove that the number of days from song release to video shoot was greater than for all other idols

LOL! I wonder how long it took to look up that info! I’m so glad they don’t care :) .
I’m kind of curious now about the paragraph MJ quoted about tracing some fight back to the original comment from a Kris fan (bllollu?). I’ve done that as well (several times) with very different results. In fact, I haven’t come across one yet that wasn’t started by a Glambert concern troll. (I’m sure Kris fans have started fights there, but it’s infrequent enough that I haven’t run across it)

          • jmom376

Deez.. I think that every time I see a statistics post regarding Kris. For someone who is so forgettable, or whatever the buzz word of the day is, some people sure spend a lot of time trying to prove their point. I find it funny and actually sometimes I appreciate all of the trouble they put into finding the data. Most of us Kris fans wouldn’t bother spending time on finding that crap. LOL

Ross: Mediabase is also pretty much dominated by Glamberts. I am the queen of backspacing and deleting posts before I submit them. Usually I end up not saying a word..

          • muzikizmi

It is amazing to me, how much time the Glamberts spend looking up stats on Kris, that can be used against him. IMO they are obviously retired women, stay at home moms, and maybe some school aged girls, out for the summer. No one else has that kind of time. Even if I had that kind of free time, I am sure I could put it to better use.

If the Glamberts spent some of that spare time volunteering at a hospital or soup kitchen, a lot of good could come of it. To waste it, trying to dig up some ‘gotcha’ statistic on a singer they don’t like, is almost to weird to wrap my brain around. It is icky.

          • ross

If they volunteered at a soup kitchen or hospital they’d probably be making everyone there listen to Adam CDs. And telling them Kris Allen is a sucky homophobic Christian little bitch.

          • ross

Wow, I missed all these posts, earlier.

GLAMPING! Haha! I hope they bring their Coleman Glanterns.

So, yeah, the video being shot late is a sign that Jive doesn’t care about Kris. And it won’t help the song do well, anyway. Poor Kris.

And yes, someone (I’m pretty sure it was who I said) posted a list of stats for five or six ex-contestants, including the date their single came out, the date their video for the single was released, and the number of days from the single dropping to the video being released.
And I think the longest was 41 days. And Kris’s was 73 days, or something. This was cause for great CONCERN. Needless to say.

I’m sure the entire story about why it took “longer than usual” will come out soon…trust me.

Hey. Do you know something we don’t? If so, I can’t wait.

        • jukejoint

It sounded to me as if MJ blamed us for the two posters (or two posts — maybe it was just one poster) in the Kris concert thread. I mean the posts with the names mocking her regular Glambert posters, something like Schunderbookie and then Tigre with 92 in Spanish. We had posted here about making up names to mock them — and I honestly thought we were all just being goofy with servals and beasts and suchlike — I know I can let that kind of joke go on way too long because I enjoy mocking, so mea culpa on that one, but that was all AFTER lion93 or whatever, and as god as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly… I mean, I thought we were just joking around. I did not expect anybody to actually start making up user names at MJs called OhMy94 or whatever it was I suggested. Kidding. Kidding. Kidding. I don’t post there, I will not ever, ever post there, and I want it known that I am not now and did not ever mean to suggest that anybody else post there, either, under their own names or any other mocking names.

Anyway, MJ specifically said in her rant post here (along with the fact that she a) doesn’t give a shit what we say here but b) the fact that we were making up faux-poster names made her mad, which is c) all kind of contradictory, but whatev) that she knew we had been riffing on concern troll names so what was she supposed to think whan those faux concern trolls showed up? Meaning, without looking at the ISPs or doing any investigatory work whatsoever, she assumed it was people from here. Like me, I suppose, because I participated in the naming nonsense. (Her response with the “What was I supposed to think?” was to me, which is why I am responding. I wasn’t going to post on it ever again, but I feel a bit like a kid who’s been out on the playground playing nicely, only to get called inside because somebody broke something in the classroom and if nobody fesses up, everybody gets punished. I always hated that kind of general blame, you know? And now it reminds me of that horrendous Kristen Wiig skit on SNL with the Gilly person, and that makes it even worse. It’s like Gilly is standing right there, and MJ is blaming all of us instead. I HATE GILLY!)

So, to sum up, MJ seemed to be saying that she blamed some of us (all of us?) at Top Idol for the Schunderbookie and Tigre trolls in the Kris Allen concert thread, even though deez and I had already said it wasn’t us because we didn’t think they were any different from the usual Glambert annoyances, i.e., not funny. My advice to mtl, who was running that thread that night, was to delete their posts and report them to MJ as trolls. But MJ was already mad because of other thread blow-ups and because derogatory things had been said here about her site, so she flew off the handle and banned deez and immediately assumed somebody here was responsible for the trolling in that thread, without any proof and without that making sense in the least. Deez’s bears post was funny and over the top, AKA satire, parody, HUMOR. Schunderbookie and Tigre were not funny. They posted the same crap the real Tiger and Bunderschnookie post(ed) every day. Who needs to see more of that?

It makes perfect sense that they were some idiots from ONTD or elsewhere trying to create a stir. She’d already had denial of service attacks and reams and reams of nonsense before Kris Allen ever auditioned for Idol. She will continue to have crap happen even if every person who has ever posted at this site keeps away from hers. Because her blog is about American Idol and people get passionate and stupid about it. I can’t begin to explain the passion, but it’s certainly obvious from Kerry Kolsch and her “book” to the Claymates and the Soul Patrol and Sweet Sexy Sean and the comments section of every article about Idol on the entire internet.

Anybody read Gawker and see their ongoing battle with 4Chan, whatever the hell that is? Same crazy, different channel.

          • deez

Exactly! The made up names were just what we do! My comment was OBVIOUSLY OTT so that no one would mistake what its purpose was. The Buderschnookie and Tigre comments were meant to cause trouble ..not our MO!

          • muzikizmi

I think MJ owes TI a huge apology. I don’t really think TI will get one, but I still think it is owed. You don’t barge into someone else’s blog and bitch out all of the posters, unless you are 100% sure you have your ducks in a row.

Yeah, I am still pissed about the whole thing.

          • mtlfan

yep, it was pretty obvious deez.
I wonder if mj knows the ip address of the spanish tiger and the other shluck moron. And if yes, i wonder if she could link them to usual posters

          • ross

Related to your post, jukejoint (which was great. And will soon be made into a major motion picture starring Leonardo DiCaprio), I just want to add: It’s now obvious, after one year has gone by and nothing has changed, that some Adam fans need to prove on a daily basis that he should have won AI. Which they do by racking up stats and numbers that supposedly prove people like him better. (I don’t actually think that’s the case, probably. But, hey, it may be. I think he’s the beneficiary of more free publicity than any American Idol runner up ever. While Kris has had possibly less publicity than any winner ever. If that evened out, so would many things.)

Anyhow. There’s something pathetic in this constant one-upmanship that suggests they don’t really feel secure. For an Idol winner, there are semi-demi rumblings here-and-there that Kris may be an “actual” artist. The real thing. I think that is most bothersome to them. Also, Adam is actually racking up some good stats lately that they can gloat about, to counteract any such rumblings. So maybe just let them rant, for the time being.

          • deez

a major motion picture starring Leonardo DiCaprio

            LMAO!

          • ross

Sorry – my post seems totally off topic but was referring to jukejoiunt’s comments about “fan passion.”

          • jukejoint

I am very sorry my post was so long. As I said, I have a tendency to go on and on. Mea culpa!

          • DeeDee

Ross- “For an idol winner there are semi-demi rumblings here-and-there that Kris may be an “actual” artist. The real thing. I think that is most bothersome to them.”
            Bingo!

          • ross

jukejoint your post was fantastic! I was unable to resist kidding you on the length because I’m an asshole, but it was only friendly joshing, I hope you realize.

          • vtu

OT, but I just want to acknowledge the WKRP reference in your post, jukejoint. That turkey-drop episode should be on a list of the best Thanksgiving-themed TV shows of all time. Thanks for the short trip down memory lane. :D

        • jazz

Nobody hates you, deez. I think you’re hilarious! Your comment was so obviously meant in good-natured jest.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

When I finally saw the comment, I nearly pissed myself. It was hilarious. It reminds me of our very own concerned troll, crap, what is her name?

          • deez

By the “hate” thing, I didn’t mean anybody here. I meant some of our “most famousest” friends like KerryK. I will give KK this much, at least she’s honest with her intentions. I can respect that. When she comes here, she’s pretty direct with her feelings and takes her punishment. We make fun of her…she makes fun of us. No third party blame. If it’s above board, it’s fine and dandy. As far as I know, the Queen of Glamberts wouldn’t do this kind of shit…so congrats, bllollu!!

          • Verbally Dyslexic

TI, you mean Idoltard10, who is probably a bigger Kris Allen fan than all of the fans here combined because she bought (in Old Spice Guy voice) A KAJILLION COPY OF HIS ALBUMS?

(regular voice) Or Marissa, who wanted to know why people here spend so much time trashing Adam and then proceeded to give her own analysis and conclusion, thereby rendering her query pointless and looking more trollsome? Who, incidentally, goes to _blllolllu, I think.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

            YES! Marissa.

Idoltard10 is just plain off her rocker.

          • deez

There’s also menageetoile, and some other chick who got banned, and whose name escapes me. They were bloblluus too, I think.

(I keep feeling like I’m trying to type “Bilbo Baggins”.)

  • deez

    OK (from Kris’s concert)…..

OMG he just stopped in the middle of the song to go pee!!!
    2 minutes ago via Echofon

Seriously…omg. There will be an uproar tomorrow. “how unprofessional” etc…
OF COURSE…it’s about peeing, lol. I hope that was a joke!

    • deez

“Some things you never live down: peeing in the middle of the song. But you really wouldnt live down peeing on yourself. Thatd be on yt”

^from Kris. You gotta do what you gotta do. I can sympathize, lol.

      • cc

LMFAO. OMG! What’s with him and peeing?! Seriously. Is he real?

      • JaneRochester

He’s too young for prostate trouble. What’s going on here?

        • deez

          LOL :)

    • barado

The tweets sound hilarious. I hope there is some good video. The band played on and he came back to finish the song.

      • deez

TI needs a Peepost tomorrow! I can’t believe that! If he plays back to back shows again, he needs to wear some depends.

I was gonna call it a night, but now I’m sidetracked by peegate, lol.

        • ross

I used to act in local theatre and there are times when you’re onstage and you have to pee, obviously. But being in a written scene, you have to wait until your ‘character’ goes offstage.
Kris is luckier. He can just go off, and come back. He runs the show. Didn’t Kelly Clarkson…didn’t she take a pee break at a concert? Thought I saw that at MJ’s. Anyway: lol!

          • muzikizmi

It probably has to do with the fact that he did one show, sweated a lot, drank a lot of water……..then having dinner and presumably more beverages between shows………pee happens!

Yes, I do remember Kelly Clarkson doing that before. Maybe they will have a twitter convo about it.

          • ross

            Yeah, pee happens. lol

          • mtlfan

            “pee happens” … lol
            ————————-
it made me remember when Kris had a sudden urge to pee before his audition in Louisville.
Seems his body once again let him know of that on a short notice!

          • jazz

It’s ’cause he drinks soooo much water in between songs! I always wondered whether he had to pee after drinking so much (I would have to take a break in every show if I drank that much water at once!)

  • deez

Tweeters @ Kris show saying Taylor Hicks is there? Cook was there yesterday, and today Taylor? It can’t be a PTB mutual support thing cuz Taylor pretty much told them to fuck off, right? That’s pretty cool that he’s there. Yay! Fun Drunk Uncle!

    • deez

Maybe I’m misunderstanding. 2 tweets about him, then nothing. Weird.

      • barado

I think they were playing a Taylor Hicks video before the show.

        • deez

Ok thanks! That makes sense, lol…somebody was all ” OMG, it’s TAYLOR”…then… crickets.
          I was confused.

          • DeeDee

Taylor is playing at the same venue in a month or so I think. Maybe they were showing a video advertising that?

          • muzikizmi

That is my guess. They probably thought fans for one Idol, would love them all. Ooops.

  • ross

Yeah both shows are SOLD OUT, actually. (Gee, I don’t know how to do the glammy boldface or I would.)

It’s a smallish venue that seats about 300. It’s a club/restaurant type of place. Very klassy.

    http://www.anthologysd.com/index.html

    • deez

Nice. I just looked at the Twitter feed, The opener is Torres’s band. Great idea, they will get an awesome reception.

    • On The Edge

Has “girlygirl” posted here in the past? Just saw on MJs that she had a serious car accident on the way to Kris’ show…okay except for a cut-up, swollen face and her car’s totalled. Thank FSM she’s okay! Needless to say she headed back home after the hospital. Poor gal…:(

      • deez

Yikes. IDK if she posts here (maybe a diff name?). I just know her from MJs…glad she’s OK!

      • Lauren

I think I have seen her here before! I hope she is ok and feels better :/

  • deez

What’s the deal with Kris’s show in SD tonight? People keep saying “both shows” Is he playing 2 mini shows back to back at the same venue? I’m confused.

    • ross

He sold out the first show a few weeks ago, so they added a second show. I don’t think either one is a mini show. They’re both full shows, I’m pretty sure.

      • deez

Nawwwww…. sold out? That can’t be right!
        (Thanks Ross)

        • JaneRochester

          Wait. Just. A. Minute.

Kris sold out a show? And they added a second one? And it’s full too? And in Calfiornia, where everyone is a jaded ass?

The earth just tilted on its axis.

          • Verbally Dyslexic

Specifically, San Diego, Adam’s hometown. I await a comment from the Glambert-Hive.

            *pokes at hornet’s nest*

          • Salleyanne

Waiting for the “well Adam’s show sold out 4500 and poor Kris only 300.

          • Salleyanne

            Forgot the last quotation mark.

          • JaneRochester

D’oh! Don’t poke the hornet’s nest! You KNOW what happened last time!

          • ross

Probably it’s more like 500, but I hate counting numberrrrs…

          • muzikizmi

There are random photos of the Glambert crowd at last night’s casino show at VTFW. One of the long time members has an uncle who goes to that casino each weekend. The uncle had no idea why he was asked to take pictures of the crowd, but the results speak for themselves. They are in the Glambert Walgreens thread on the home page.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

OH THOSE MADE MY DAY! What a wonderful thing to behold in these remaining few hours before Mad Men!

          • deez

Oh wow. I feel sorry for grampa in the ballcap and suspenders (being dragged there by the wife) I’m sure he has NO CLUE. Hope he could turn down the volume on his hearing aid. Poor guy.

Looked 80% geriatric. Most served drink from last night: Glambertini (mylanta and vermouth, garnished with a prune)

          • ross

I guess this doesn’t go here so delete it if you want, TI. But I liked this piece about Adam because it’s some stuff I’ve also felt about him. Even though I’m kind of tired of the excessive attention he gets from the media.

            http://www.huffingtonpost.com/melody-breyergrell/adam-lamberts-identity-cr_b_657957.html

          • deez

Gaaah. Offended self-righteous commenters already. (and the lady likes Adam)

          • ross

            One of the commenters says:

Adam’s only “problem” may be how to pick what to do with such an astounding array of talents, and thus possibilities, to choose from.

Okay, he can, a) sing, b) dance? A little. I’m not astounded by this array of talents.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

            I do not think he’s a dancer.

          • Lauren

I think they were probably referring to the astounding array of genres he can sing? He can also *presumably* c) act since he was doing that for a while.

          • ross

            I didn’t think so. I guess it’s possible.

He has a glorious counter-tenor voice with incredible stage instincts. You do have to worry if he’s going to blow out that beautiful instrument with his rock singing. However, he’s not new at singing rock or blues. May have even sung some jazz. He has an incredible sense of rhythm. He’s very quick, funny, and understands camp (love his facial expressions). He is also a fabulous dancer with amazing agility, flexibility, gracefulness, and body awarness. My guess is, given the opportunity, he is quite good at acting. And, he’s very beautiful. [...] Adam’s only “problem” may be how to pick what to do with such an astounding array of talents, and thus possibilities, to choose from. I’ve never seen or heard anything like him, ever.

I really hate these OTT “reviews” in the comments section, complete with trite expressions.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

It all sounds the same, you know? Hell, I can’t even write such flowery things about Jon Hamm.

          • ross

He’s talented as a singer or performer, I just don’t think it’s accurate to suggest he has an astounding array of talents. That’s more like a Mickey Rooney, to me. (Before your time. Acted in comedy and drama, sang, danced, did impressions, wrote songs, played instruments, etc.)

Anyhow, I was just nitpicking at the comment, not Adam.

          • http://topidolblog.com TopIdol

MICKEY ROONEY WAS THE BIGGEST STAR IN THE WORLD! THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

          • ross

Are you being sarcastic or serious? Because I think @1940 he really was.

          • Lauren

Oh no, I get what you were saying. While I kinda do agree with the main points of their comment, the way they said it was kinda creepy, OTT, and obsessive. But hey, that’s fandom. And Ross, I know who Mickey Rooney is. I am not *completely* ignorant of everything before my time. :P
