It’s Thursday, which means its time for Something Pitchy!

Today, AOL’s Andy Scott and Rae Votta (wearing her lil’ black pillbox-hat-o-mourning for the fallen Tim Urban), Rickey, MTV’s Jim Cantiello and I sat down to chat about this week’s American Idol festivities. Once again, I am the giant head on the wall.

Watch the whole damn thing. We’re a fun little group, aren’t we? We also provide some astute insight into everybody’s favorite song & (sometimes) dance shit show.

    I’m thinking the whole judges panel is a mess this season. First of all starting from the begining how did some of these people even get selected? Everyone keeps saying that is clearly the least talented bunch but, who picked them the judges.
    I’m a little curious to see why the judges have passed that Angela Martin over three years in a row? I mean she was a better singer and better looking than most of this of this years contestants.
    I’m thinking that there must be a back story here that the producers didn’t want to deal with with her.
    It’s pretty funny since Kara and ellen both have been trying to get her record deals.
    The judges have been inconsistant in thier critiques and it seems that they had most of the contestants heads spinning each week with thier dopey comments.
    Who helps the contestants pick the songs and music? The judges are always crying about song choice and arrangements.

    I’m glad you brought up the point about the judges needing to do a fair critique of Lee and Crystal. I think if the critique is done correctly it will help them in the eyes of those we don’t think they walk on water. No matter what, I believe people want fair play. It’s obvious Crystal is the best of Season 9. David Cook was called out for some pitchy performances and it didn’t hurt him. Carrie Underwood was called out for being too robotic. Crystal should be able to survive a fair and honest critique.

    I think the problem with Tim is that he tried to seriously compete with the others and unfortunately, he was out of his league. I suppose he preferred to keep his dignity and be voted off than be the perpetual clown of season 9. I’m glad he left smiling.

    The host is a bit meh, (he’s growing on me) but everyone else is meshing well.

    That was so much fun. I love you and Jim and your reactions. I want you to be permanent fixtures. I much prefer you being the big face … it’s actually not that big and you have the camera angle perfected … to the other big face.

    These always look like fun. I want to do one! I also want to do an Idolatry with Slezak. I want more people to hear my opinions! LOL!

    I loved that you pointed out that the judges do praise Lee and Crystal for doing the same thing over and over again. But while Crystal at least does it very well, Lee has some very off weeks so the praise gets a little confusing.

    I watched the whole thing. Can I just say that I love Jim so much. I want to buy him a beer and talk about life with him. TI you are adorable, had no idea you were such a youngin.
