Happy Birthday Allison Iraheta!

Our little La Princesa del Mariachi is all grown up! Well sort of. Allison Iraheta just turned 18 and celebrated this special occasion with her Idol-winning buddies, David Cook and Kris Allen.

The entire video is long, so if you want to skip that Dancing With The Might-Have-Beens crap, go to the 8:40 mark. (At least stick around a few seconds for Niecey Nash, though. Love her. Oh, Reno 911! I miss you.)

The geographically-challenged cameraman is most interested in David Cook and his trip to China. Not sure who the guy with the glasses and the ‘stache is, and I didn’t really pay attention. Cook is looking good and appears to have gotten into fighting shape. Kris Allen and La Princesa are cool because they both wear black leather jackets.

Who doesn’t love La Princesa del Mariachi, the coolest OMG SHE IS ONLY 16 contestant in the history of Idol and perhaps the entire world? Here’s wishing her an awesome birthday.

      Wow so 19Evil is finally willing to part with some money to get them on the Oprah show. They deserve the pimping though since the paparazi dun even know who the hell they are. And OMFG they are doing a duet!!! This is gonna be good man!

      Can’t wait to see this. Hopefully it’s scheduled to air soon. BTW, there’s speculation (or wishful thinking) that whatever the duet is, they’ll do it live in one of the gigs where they 2 are set to perform. I think it’ll be in Six Flags?

      I really like Allison and would love to hear a duet during the course of a concert. But if I’m being honest I have to say that with a platform like Oprah I would rather Kris sing solo. This is a great promotional tool and instead of using it to create buzz about Kris the solo artist it will be about those two idol kids. Hopefully they will both get a chance to speak about their albums and do a bit of separate self advertising.

        I’m curious to see what the segment is about. Maybe Kris did a mashup of two of their songs. That would help both of them and I’d rather see that than a cover.

            Deez I am worried about that too that somehow this will be turned into an Adam lovefest. I am shocked 19 is even having them on the show.

            Adam will be in the UK for a while right? He’s been on Oprah a few times already, it would be nice to give Kris and Allison a little time to promote themselves. They rarely get the opportunity.

        I will definitely set my DVR for this. I would love to see them duet together but I hope they will both get attention with an interview segment. I hope it doesn’t turn into a 2 for the price of one deal where they wont have time to talk about themselves individually.

        Probably, et. They’re already posting on TWoP about how appearing on Oprah doesn’t necessarily lead to a huge bump in sales. No one seemed to claim that it would. Someone just posted Kris’ tweet and they jumped in to say that his sales will still suck. Unless you’re a rock god, you won’t see any benefit from Oprah.

          Didn’t they moo all over the place when ADAM was a guest on Oprah? I could go back and dig up some of their memorable babbling. I recall them using it in concern troll posts and the ilk.

        The show is about “no phone zone” about not using the phone while driving.So it may not be really focused about Kris or Allison per se so they may just have one song the duet.Why it does not even list them .So it is not like the one with Adam that was about Adam lambert.

    The guy who posted that is NOT even a Kris Allen fan. He just doesn’t like Adam. I asked why he did that, and he said he just wanted to see what would happen as a joke. Now the Glamberts are of course saying that Kris fans are BSC and using his remark.

    The guy with the porn ‘stache is Cook’s younger brother, the one who didn’t make it past the first audition.

    I felt a little sad for Kris, as all the people going in and out of the restaurant seemed more interested in David and hardly noticed he was there.

      They didn’t really seem to focus on Allison either, and it was her birthday! They’ve really dropped the ball on marketing both her and Kris. Not sure why they’re not even trying.

          I hope they’re recouping some of their money from it. I’m not sure how that works with tours, but I imagine Adam’s tour will not be cheap so the tickets must be quite expensive to cover the costs, make some money for him and make some money for the label.

            As someone who was looking into obtaining Glamnation tickets, I can promise you that they seem to be the average price for a concert nowadays or maybe even a tiny bit less.

            That’s surprising. I suppose I assumed he’d be having a lot of theatrics during his show, including lasers and that type of thing, that aren’t really cheap. He also has to pay Allison, Orianthi and the members of his band and crew. I wonder how this will all work out.

            Laila, the tickets are still like $35! I think that’s plenty for theatricality and paying Orianthi/ Allison. Everyone else does it, so I don’t see why Adam won’t be able to.

            I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that they are sharing the costs of touring so he can afford to do it at all.

            They probably have to pay HIM for the privilege of walking on the same stage and breathing the same air!!! And besides that, they should just be thankful for the opportunity to go out there and perform in front of the bestest most devoted fans who will be dressed in glitter and sparklies and black pleather and blue hair extensions and tacky jewelry and black nail polish.

            Imagine the head explosions if Adam suddenly started changing nail polish colors every day, they wouldn’t know what to do.

            I would bet that Orianthi and Allison are both forced by 19Evil to take a lower cut of the margins so that they can afford all those lasers and expensive outfits for their pimped one.

            He has to pay the venue, the promoters, the band and crew, and his opening acts. If the show itself is very theatrical (expensive) he’s not going to make much of a profit. Not everyone does, Gaga has said she’s losing money on her tour and she’s playing stadiums. Even if he sells out every show, I don’t see how he’s going to make anything substantial from this. But I could be wrong! I’m sure he and the label know his finances better than I do.

        I have wondered why they didn’t market Allison and Kris properly when they’re both charming and talented. I know it sounds insane but I’ve seriously started to believe that it was an order from 19 management to make sure Adam stays special.

        Otherwise they’re just throwing away money for no good reason.

          I think it’s not to make sure Adam stays special, but to keep him higher in public perception and view, to reinforce their storyline that he IS ALREADY an international superstah.

      Ok, David Cook confuses me. Why did he bother with a stupid combover? He looks good, I don’t even detect a receding hairline, so what was the point of that?

      I think Kris knows the guy has no clue who he is. He has a look on his face like he wants to say something snarky.

        I felt bad for Kris that he wasn’t recognized. I blame it on American Idol for giving too much attention to Adam and neglecting Kris. As the WINNER he should have gotten much more publicity than he did.

          I don’t think Kris cares. Maybe he does, but I doubt it. I hope he’s socking his money away so if it comes down to it, he can finance his own album in the future if he has to.

        I think he was trying to hide the huge forehead not a receding hairline. He finally seems to have embraced the large skull and he looks much better now. I’m not sure if it’s the weight loss or that he’s just growing into his looks.

        Haha, I think he is big-forehead-phobic or something. I come from a family of peeps with rather large foreheads and my brother especially tried many different hairstyles (fail!) to cover up that forehead before they finally cut their hair short and embraced that baby. Me? It was easier to hide w/bangs until I got too damn lazy to take care of bangs and grew it all out. Shine on, five-finger brow, shine on. I’ve been wanting Mr. Cook to embrace the forehead for some time knowing that it is impossible to hide that rather large brow and he looks so much better with that haircut… and he is looking quite slender, to boot.

    I love seeing three of my favorite idols hanging out together. I’m not sure what that China talk was about but David looked very confused. The three of them seem to have figured out how to deal well with the paparazzi and have fun with it all. The guy with the glasses is Cook’s younger brother.

      I think there was something written, probably not true…well obviously not true, that David had planned to go to China on some trip instead of trying out for idol. Who knows how these stories get made up. I love the idea of these three being buds. I know Carrie kind of took David under her wing and it looks like he may be paying it forward. Hell, they may just plain like hanging out with each other.

      I said on the other thread it makes me happy to see three of my favorite Idols hanging out. Cook has really gotten himself into shape – I’ll wave at him as he runs by my slow-walking self at the Race for Hope on Sunday. Ha!

          I will wave one hand at him for me and one for you and probably scare the poor guy. Oh well, he can get away from me, I’m not terribly speedy :) . I mean, I played goalie in soccer so I wouldn’t have to run so much (granted, that was a bad idea, as my arthritic-from-breaking-them fingers will attest) so clearly I will go to great lengths to avoid running. I guess I’m not a good Cooktard if I didn’t take up running just so I could be close to him. :)
