Happy Birthday Jon Hamm

Today is Jon Hamm’s 39th birthday. Which is hot and nothing at all like Benny Hill.

In other news, Corey Haim croaked and Jennifer Aniston & Gerard Butler shot a spread for W with Steven Klein. I typically don’t care what Jennifer Aniston does, but this perplexes me. Does she really just not care what people think of her? Or are all the stories of her pathetic desperation true? Steven Klein shot the now-infamous suburban dystopia spread with Bradgelina. Weird. I have no idea why I am even thinking about such nonsense.

(Oh. And NOMAR retired from baseball…as a member of the Red Sox. I need to get back to you about my feelings on this one.)

I suppose its sad Corey Haim died, but I never worshiped the guy, never thought he was cute. His movies also sucked. Well, besides Silver Bullet and Lucas. A girl I knew with alopecia was obsessed with him in junior high. She was bald and determined to marry Corey Haim. She eventually grew hair, but Corey Haim died. If only Dr. Drew could have helped him! Hell, whenever anyone famous dies of an apparent OD these days, I just shake my head and wonder how they keep dropping and Jeff Conaway is still alive.

So Corey Haim died and this is sad, also because Corey Feldman will be on umpteen TV shows over the next week. (You know he is doing Larry King Live tonight. He must be.)

Wondering if I can start a meme regarding a CURSE surrounding the film Lucas. Charlie Sheen is a mess. Winona Ryder stole shit. And Corey Haim is dead. Kerri Green better watch her back.

But today is still a happy day, because it’s Jon Hamm’s birthday!

    I stared at that .gif of Jon Hamm for like a minute straight and I kept telling myself it was because I was trying to figure out what he was eating [ham......right!?], but really it was just because he’s handsome.

    Happy Hammy Day indeed! I may have to defrost those pork chops now.

    I’m not sure why the Corey Haim thing hit me so hard. I suppose I did have a crush on him when I was 11 or something. He was just part of the cosmic background noise of my life. I used to love the B movies the Coreys did, like Dream a Little Dream and those movies with Nicole Eggert. Terrible, but fun.

    I’m 50/50 on Steven Klein. I’m not a fan of that cover.

            It doesn’t really look like I remember my 1960 Ken looking, either. Whereas the Joan and Betty Barbies *do* look my Barbie’s face with the slitty eyes and generally overly made-up thing happening.

      I was never the biggest Corey Haim fan, but you must go watch Lucas and The Lost Boys. He was a great teen actor in the 80s.

    Happy Birthday John Hamm! I am a little sadder than I should be over my favorite 1/2 of the Corey’s. Sad. And yes, Feldman will milk this for everything its worth.

    OH TI…Corey Haim was my first celeb crush. I had his posters plastered on my walls. I loooved him. You know what’s odd he had the same mouth quirkness Kris has.

    I am sad. He just became a lost soul.

    Happy b-day to Jon Hamm! He’s younger than I thought he was. Huh.

    Not surprised about Corey Haim at all. He was a messed-up dude. Still sad, though. I’m a little surprised Corey Feldman outlived him.

    Most important news of the day today though — Kris’s single has officially gone platinum! \o/
