Danny Gokey to perform on next week’s results show

American Idol could just bring back Kris and Allison every week. Then it might be…good?

This week’s results show was better than well, any other results show in a very long time, because both Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen performed. Next week, Idol is bringing back Season 8 villain Danny Gokey!

According to AINow.org (I am completely suspect of these people and their ability to pull information out of thin air before anyone else, even though they’ve only been around six months), Danny Gokey will be returning to the Idol stage next week to perform his new single, My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.

Well, at least this proves that Idol, just like anyone else who watched last season, is desperately trying to remember the what-now-seems-like-magic of last season. I don’t know if Danny Gokey is the way to do it, but hey, I definitely see what you’re trying to do.

So can Quatto the Mole come back in two weeks? Pretty please?

    Danny’s appearance on Idol is timed to coincide with the release of his album, which drops on March 2.

    PS – Even though Idol and/or iTunes screwed up the release of Kris’s charity single, it is still selling nicely — currently sits at #12 on the overall iTunes chart

    I had a horrible dream that Danny Gokey won an academy award. I think it was induced by too much NyQuil and other substances. I woke feeling like that episode of the Twilight Zone when ugly people were pretty and pretty people were ugly…and then I come here and see this.

    I’m going to Gossip Candy and cleanse myself in Adam tinhatting and half-naked twinks du jour. :)

      Gross! The only thing he should win are the Quatto-equivalents to Razzies.

      Btw, TI, when are the glorious Quatto awards? After this season of Idol? Or did I miss them on the other blog?

        Quatto Awards will be held in tandem with this year’s Academy Awards. It’s only natural.

        The How Hard Can You Tard Contest may have to wait until the Top 16. Need to check the number of entries.

      I took NyQuil once when I was 12. I either walked in my sleep or had an out-of-body-experience. No clue. Definitely the NyQuil.

    Ah, that pic is such a classic. I remeber it first appearing on twitter and all the Gokeygasms…those were the days…sigh…

    I was meh about Kris and Allison tonight/lastnight. Her voice is great, but the song? What was that crap? I can’t remember anything about it a few hours later, and it was forgettable as it was performed. Not Allison. She did a great job trying to polish a turd.

    And Kris. Does he know he has weird facial hair? The moustache is too high over the lip and it bugs me more than Luke Wilson’s current lower face deformities.

    What is the deal with ainow? Is that some AI site trying not to look connected?

    Huh…I had debated after tonight whether I would start watching Idol again. Thanks Gokey for making the decision for me. Now, what’s on Thursdays? Don’t say Grey’s, and sadly my usual Thursday fare, Bones and Fringe, is preempted by IDOL.

        I love Parks & Rec but hate Community. And 30 Rock. Love 30 Rock. The Office gets worse each week. I pretty much wish Jim & Pam would die.

          Aw, really? I think Community is the best new sitcom of the season–great characters, especially Abed, and it usually makes me LOL. If there’s one complaint, it’s perhaps the one-time events per episode.

          I COMPLETELY agree about The Office though. This season is deplorable. I’m so glad that Jim is not co-manager anymore though. That was grating on my nerves all season.

            The only show I really, really, really like is Mad Men. I know (or at least I knew him when he was in college) a guy on Parks & Rec, so I have been watching it and been amused by it. Community is sort of a waste to me, except for the actress who is also on Mad Men. The whole world comes back to Mad Men, doncha know?
