Here are a few examples of how Holly/Maryann Sockpuppets attacks other women, whether they are other fans, others who see through her insanity and multiple personalities, and of course, any attractive girl photographed with David Cook who does not meat her definition of CLASSY.

On April 20th David had his arm around some girl.

The fan described it. She looked like kimberly caldwell. Skinny blonde and actually did resemble her, but it wasn’t her, the hair was a little longer.

    As a member of DCU, I am pretty shocked at this information about Holly, if it’s true. Interestingly, I don’t see how it has actually affected anything at the site. There likely are some private pm’s flying around, but otherwise business as usual. DCU has quite a few members that post frequently that seem to be totally unrelated to all this drama. I think they have such established relationships with each other, that it almost doesn’t matter what Holly’s history may or may not be. I honestly think the OTT comments such as DCU being a “trainwreck”, etc., causes the members there to discredit anything said here. The fact is that most of DCU is just like any other fan site.

    I did think it was a little strange that someone brought in pictures of another girl from MM for no apparent reason. But they mostly got ignored. I do see the similarity between Holly and some of the other posters you mentioned. This may not be enough to cause too much of a problem on the board. My guess is, if it keeps happening, that poster will just be ignored. No one is going to openly question Holly. The women that have been talked about have put themselves out there themselves, providing plenty of opportunity for them to be criticised.

    Yes. I know a group who ended up firing their long time tour manager because he was exposed to be scalping tickets to a rabid tardbase, amonst other things. It was partly their fault because they let their back up musicians and employees go down to the hotel bars to humor them and get free drinks. There is a fine line and the problem is that the nutters are the ones who flock to it.

    What’s really disturbing is that this isn’t Holly Sockpuppet’s first rodeo. So, she’s not one of those unfortunates who gets too caught up in the whole Idol obsession, realizes the error of her ways by the time the album comes out, and gets back to real life. Nope. For her, THIS is her real life. Spooky stuff.

    Anyway, I think a rule of thumb for judging the OTT obsessiveness of a fanboard is to see how they treat the SOs and the Idol’s family. Boards that allow members to trash the SO or to lust after the brother or to suck up to the mother are opening their doors for the borderline-personality types and OTTs like our Holly, here. So, the fact that her board has a whole section devoted to calling Kimberly Caldwell a skank means it’s attracting the basement-dwellers of fandom. And they feed off each other.

    Do other musicians have this kind of freaky fandoms?

      I think there are definitely other musicians that have elements of this kind of freaky fandom. They usually result in restraining orders. I know there was a big brouhaha when Trent Reznor had to shut down his Twitter or Facebook account or something because there was a group of fans stalking and making violent threats against his girlfriend (now wife). I think they had their own special message board too. I’m sure there are many other similar stories. The fact that Holly and her multiple personalities has been doing this for years with a string of random celebrities certainly indicates a pathology at work. What’s in the water in suburban Pennsylvania?

      As for Maryann’s threats that she “knows where you live,” yeah – she’s threatened me with that before. Apparently the insane asylum has her on a short enough leash that she doesn’t make a practice of traveling around to confront in person the people she threatens online and on the phone. I’m surprised she made a spectacle of herself at a DC show. When I met her at an AI concert she was all about making friends and fitting in.

She blamed that removal on KimJ, the one who the story was about. MaryAnn/Holly, what does the panic feel like that you are feeling? White hot? Sockpuppets posted pictures last night of a girl from Model Mayhem who has absolutely nothing to do with Cook. She’s just trying to start shit because there is nothing and she’s trying to deflect attention away from herself.

    So as I said in my comment on the previous “Holly/Maryann” post I joined DCU and earlier today I looked around…pretty unfortunate stuff. It’s a bit difficult to parse the girlfriend/acquaintance (yes, acquaintances are worth stalking too) thread as there are lots of names and nicknames thrown around and it’s hard to tell who/what they’re talking about though. The sexism and animosity is very striking…not only David’s female acquaintances but THEIR female friends are skanks – Carly Smithson, who is married and DC is probably not her type anyway, hangs out with Kim Caldwell, and is therefore skanky by association. And of course there’s the plan to make a spreadsheet of David’s girlfriends/conquests, and a thread titled “Did Caldwell slow down Cook’s music career?”. Just like Yoko.

    Funny how they are so invested in a man who, in their opinion, clearly has horrible taste in women.
